Miller Fills Watauga District Seat on Blue Ridge Board of Directors
The Board of Directors of Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corporation has appointed Angie Miller to fill the Watauga District Board seat that was left open when Hope Caroselli recently stepped down from the Board following a move outside the cooperative’s service area. Miller will complete the seat’s three-year term, which began on June 24, 2021, and runs through June 27, 2024.
Article III Section 3.09 of the Cooperative’s Bylaws requires the Board of Directors to appoint a replacement director for the open seat whenever there are one or more years remaining in the term. The Board also follows all Bylaw requirements for director qualifications as stated in Article III Section 3.02.
Miller is Deputy Human Resources Director for Appalachian State University, where she has worked for 21 years. She served on Blue Ridge Energy’s Member Advisory Committee from 2012 until 2017, a committee that meets every other month to hear updates about the cooperative and provide feedback in each district. She has also served on Blue Ridge Energy’s Credentials and Election Committee which helps ensure director elections are conducted in compliance with the cooperative’s bylaws including validating proxies and ballots as well as certification of election results.
Miller has served as a volunteer at Samaritan’s Purse and the Hope Pregnancy Resource Center; is a member of the State Employees’ Credit Union Advisory Board and served with Blowing Rock Fire & Rescue for 20 years where she received the Meritorious Service Award. She is also a pianist with Laurel Fork Baptist Church
Miller graduated with honors from Caldwell Community College with an Associate Degree in Business Administration. She is also a graduate of Watauga High School.
Miller began her duties with the Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corporation Board of Directors on Thursday, February 24, 2023.
