Power Restoration Efforts Continue for Over 3,000
As of 4 am Tuesday, Blue Ridge Energy line technicians continue working to restore power after yesterday’s destructive storm of reportedly tornado-level high winds, up to six inches of flooding and lightning that left thousands in western North Carolina without power.
Over 7,000 Blue Ridge Energy members were affected. This morning, Line technicians and extra crews are working to restore over 3,000 still impacted in the following areas:
Caldwell County: 948 members primarily on Duck Creek Rd., Grace Chapel Rd., Petra Mill Rd., Granada Hills, Legacy Dr., and Lakewood Dr.
Watauga County: 15 members on Dr. Perry Dr. This area was flooded and high water broke a pole, which is being replaced as quickly as possible.
Alleghany County: our most devastated area still has 2,244 members affected Hwy 21 South, Stone Mountain Rd, Dewitt Rd., Shawtown Rd., Fox Ridge Rd., Hwy 18 North, and Old Barrett Rd. Here there are multiple broken poles and downed power lines crews are working to reach and replace.
Full force efforts are underway to restore power as quickly and safely as possible. Check our online outage map for updates any time. Report outages: 1-800-448-2383.
The public is reminded to stay far away from downed power lines - they can be dangerous or even deadly! Report them by calling 1-800-451-5474 or dialing 911.
