Transition to Blue Ridge Energy Occurring Now Through April
Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corporation is sharing the new logo its members and customers of its subsidiary, Blue Ridge Energies, LLC, will begin seeing over the coming month as the two companies transition to the single operating name of Blue Ridge Energy.
“Major changes are occurring in the energy marketplace and consumer needs are changing,” said Chief Executive Officer Doug Johnson. “As a result Blue Ridge is evolving to be the energy company our consumers turn to for all their energy needs,” said Johnson. Expanded programs, services and energy advisors are key components of the change consumers will see growing over time.
Consumers will see the transition to the Blue Ridge Energy name taking place over the coming months.
One very important thing will never change, Johnson said.
“It’s important to understand that Blue Ridge Energy will remain a member-owned cooperative—and members retain all their member benefits including capital credits,” Johnson explained. “Blue Ridge Energy, LLC, will also remain the cooperative’s separate, for-profit propane and fuels subsidiary. We will, however, be coming together under the new market name of Blue Ridge Energy to move forward as a complete innovative energy solutions source for all of our consumers.”
Blue Ridge Energy, a Touchstone Energy affiliate, serves approximately 73,700 consumers in Caldwell, Watauga, Ashe, and Alleghany counties and parts of Wilkes, Alexander and Avery counties in North Carolina. Its propane and fuels subsidiary, Blue Ridge Energy, LLC, serves customers in northwest North Carolina counties of Caldwell, Watauga, Ashe, Alleghany, Avery, Catawba, and Burke counties as well as in southern Virginia. The cooperative and its subsidiary are transitioning to their new single brand operating name of Blue Ridge Energy now through April 2017.
